Jamie’s houston heights maternity session

Early in 2021 I photographed Jamie during one of the most transforming times of hers and her husband, Brad’s, life thus far. The waiting period before arriving at parenthood. Jamie’s maternity session took place at their cottage home in the charming neighborhood of the Houston Heights.

Brad and Jamie, who have been together since junior high, were just two few months shy of welcoming their first baby, a darling baby girl. Jamie, a luxury handbag designer and founder of JJ Olivier, designed a welcoming, warm nursery. Soft pink textiles were everywhere and lightly covered the walls. My personal favorite nursery feature were the two cushy white rocking chairs in the middle of the room where Jamie and Brad could both be comfortable hanging out and keeping each other company in the early days of endless feedings.

Brad showing off his carpentry skills, created a custom wall feature that was the perfect blush velvet backdrop for the adorable Nestig wave crib.

Another favorite statement piece of the nursery is the beautifully framed vintage Hermes scarf that hung over the changing station that Jamie said was the first item she bought for the nursery when she found out she was pregnant. The nursery was ready for Miss Linley Lauren.

After getting a couple of winning shots at their home we drove down the street to a quiet park in the Heights, where they’ll undoubtedly go on lots of walks with Linley in the future, to wrap up our session.

These dear friends of mine were glowing and the feeling of excitement was evident. Cheers to the Scholhamers.
